COMMUNITY ORCHARD & GARDEN
The Community Orchard, behind the church, is now a well-established public amenity space
available to everyone, residents and visitors. It’s become a restful and pleasant spot to enjoy
the fantastic views of the Keir Hills.
The Scottish fruit trees originally planted have matured and now produce delicious apples,
pears, crabapples and berries, whilst the flowers and veg provide annual produce for locals
and volunteers.
The polytunnel, garden cabin, and shed are well used so the community garden has lots of
facilities and places to chat, do some knitting, or hold informal lunches and coffee meetings.
or to dig, sow seeds, and nurture young seedlings.
Our covered patio area, with Pizza oven and BBQ is a fantastic area to hold social events.
The Primary School pupils and the nursery use the garden for outdoor learning and the
volunteers are keen to share their horticultural experience to anyone interested, whatever age.
The wellbeing project holds get-together’s and the outdoor kitchen and pizza oven host
summer community events.
The garden is available for local people to book for their own family get togethers and events,
please get in touch for further details.
If you are interested please come along.
